When we don't show prices:
Southern Maryland Divers, LLC enters into Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) agreements with some suppliers. According to these agreements, which vary in details from vendor to vendor, the retailer can sell an item for any price, but may not advertise the item for an amount less than the Minimum Advertised Price which is set by the supplier. Retailers agree to MAP contracts because the vendor makes it worthwhile for them to do so. A retailer who abides by the agreement can count on getting first news and early shipments of new products, and generally enjoys a favored status. At Southern Maryland Divers, LLC, while we abide by our MAP agreements, our lowest selling price is always what you pay.
Remember your local dive shop when shopping around. With the internet being so easy to access these days, it's really easy to push a button and have your item in a few days. Remember that your local dive shop is here to support you. When you buy local, you keep the little guy in business and therefore supporting your diving in the future. There are some things that an online shop just can't provide. Air fills, quick equipment fixes, last minute purchases, classes..... Just a few of the things that your local shop provides. But the LDS needs your support in more than just fills and classes. We need your business with gear and products to stay afloat. Spend a few minutes and support the local shop before ordering online.

Dive Trips and Charters:
This policy covers ALL dive trips and charters UNLESS otherwise noted in the description of the specific event in which case, those policies trump these policies.
In the event that Southern Maryland Divers, LLC or the dive boat operator cancels the trip due to conditions, all divers will receive a 100% refund. In all other scenarios, cancellations are subject to a 25% cancellation fee and reschedules are subject to a $25 reschedule fee. No cancellations or reschedules are permitted within 7 days of your scheduled trip.
For All Dive Courses and Training:
This policy covers ALL dive courses and training UNLESS otherwise noted in the description of the specific course in which case, those policies trump these policies.
For all courses utilizing the PADI E-Learning System, the cost of the online portion of the course non-refundable. All reschedules or cancellation requests within 7 days prior to the course date are subject to a 25% reschedule/cancellation fee. Refunds or reschedules will not be offered to students who don't show up for their course date or for students who show up without properly signed forms. You must read the course forms prior to signing up and if you answer "YES" to any of the medical questions you MUST have a doctors signature before participating in the course.
**For classes booked through the Calvert County Department of Parks and Recreation, the course fee is non-refundable. If you must cancel your course, there are options to reschedule your course dates. Please contact us for more information on this.**
If you would like to request a refund or reschedule and the above policy does not apply to your situation you may email info@SoMdDivers.com with your request. Please include your full name, the course or trip you signed up for and the reason for your request.
Repaired equipment invoices must be paid in full upon receipt. Special ordered equipment, items, gear, parts, repairs (including drysuits), and gear must be paid for in advance.
Equipment must be picked up within 14 days of notification that repairs are complete or special ordered items have arrived. Equipment left with us over 14 days will be charged a $2.00 per day storage fee. After 30 days, you will be notified that the equipment or parts will be sold, unless payment and storage fee is received in full.
**Special circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis**
Refunds on returned items will be issued in the same payment form as tendered at the time of purchase. Once we receive and inspect the product we will credit your account. Please allow 5-7 days for a credit to appear on your account. If payment was made by check, the refund check will not be issued before 10 business days after the date of purchase.
If the item was sent back for an exchange, please allow 3-5 business days for the replacement to be processed
Please read all conditions below. If conditions are not met, Southern Maryland Divers, LLC reserves the right to refuse the return or to charge a restocking fee not less than 15%.
All returned or exchanged items must be in new condition, in their original box, and must include all packing material, blank warranty cards, manuals, and all accessories. Southern Maryland Divers, LLC is not responsible for personal data or items left in returned merchandise.
Southern Maryland Divers, LLC is not responsible for any consequential or incidental damage resulting from the sale or use of any merchandise bought from us. We are responsible for the monetary value of the merchandise only.
The following items are NOT refundable in cash but will be refunded with a shop credit only
Defective items may be repaired, exchanged or refunded at our discretion for the same model or manufacturer's equivalent model
Effective January 1st, 2016, the following rental policy covers all gear rentals with Southern Maryland Divers, LLC. It is at the sole discretion of Southern Maryland Divers, LLC to adapt these policies on a case-by-case basis.
•All rental equipment MUST accompany proof of certification for the rental equipment in question. For example, to rent a nitrox tank with a nitrox fill, you must be nitrox certified. To rent a rebreather, you must be rebreather certified on the unit being rented. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy and rentals will not be made without proof of certification.
•Equipment including tanks rented for a Southern Maryland Divers coordinated charter that is canceled due to weather or charter related issue, will be refunded the rental fee in full via check that will be issued within 5 business days of the cancelation. The check will be mailed to the mailing address you have on file with Southern Maryland Divers.
•Equipment, including tanks rented for private charters / activities will NOT be refunded, even if the gear was unused unless the equipment is returned during business hours the day of the rental or the day immediately following the initial rental date.
•Customers returning rental gear that is wet, un-rinsed, or dirty will be responsible for a cleaning / drying fee of $15.00
•Customers returning gear with damage or alterations will be charged according to the cost needed for repairs / replacement of the equipment in question.
The total of layaway items must total $100 or more to qualify. An initial payment of 10% of the total balance is required to activate layaway terms. Layaway sales must be paid for in full no later than 90 days after the initial deposit is made. A payment of at least 10% of the remaining balance is due every 30 days after the initial deposit is made. Layaway accounts that miss this deadline risk the layaway being canceled and items returned to the sales floor. If a layaway order is canceled due to late payment or due to the customer not wanting the product anymore, a restocking fee of 10% of the initial total balance will be charged and the remaining funds that had been applied to the layaway will be refunded to the customer.
