Air, Nitrox, Trimix & Oxygen Fills Serving Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia & Delaware

At Southern Maryland Divers, we provide clean, pure, and precisely blended scuba gas fills—every single time. Our commitment goes beyond equipment and procedures. Every fill receives personal attention from experienced, certified gas blenders who treat breathing gas as the life-support system it is.

From recreational air fills to advanced Nitrox, Trimix, and oxygen, every blend is performed by certified Gas Blender Instructors following strict safety and quality standards. When you fill your tanks with us, you know exactly what you’re breathing.

Proper gas fills start with properly maintained cylinders, which is why many divers schedule tank inspections and hydrostatic testing alongside their fills.

Air Quality & Gas Purity Standards

We take air quality seriously—because there is no margin for error underwater. From aviators-grade oxygen to 99.99% pure helium, every gas we use meets the highest purity standards available.

Our Mako K14 compressor is meticulously maintained according to manufacturer specifications and uses Lawrence Factor high-performance filtration to produce OCA Grade E hyper-pure air that meets or exceeds all industry standards.

To independently verify quality, our air is sampled and analyzed quarterly by Trace Analytics.
You’re welcome to review the most recent test results in-store—we proudly display them next to the compressor.

Fast, Accurate & Reliable Gas Fills

Divers shouldn’t have to wait all night for tanks. We focus on fast turnaround without sacrificing accuracy.

  • Air and banked 32% Nitrox fills are typically completed the same day

  • Custom Nitrox and Trimix blends are usually ready within two business days

When you request 32% Nitrox, you get 32% Nitrox—not “close enough.” Every blend is double-checked to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance.

Fill Capacity & Convenience

Our fill station is designed for efficiency without compromise. We can connect up to 10 tanks at a time and maintain over 4,000 cubic feet of banked air, allowing many fills to be completed while you wait.

For added convenience, we can also fill up to four tanks directly in your vehicle, following all safety procedures.

Divers preparing for trips often schedule pre-trip equipment service and gas fills to ensure everything is dialed in before travel.

Oxygen Service Requirements & Safety Policy

Any tank used for gas mixtures containing more than 40% oxygen must be cleaned, certified, and current for oxygen service.

Acceptance of another agency’s oxygen service certification is at the sole discretion of our gas blender.
If an external visual inspection reveals contamination or other concerns, the tank may require re-cleaning before filling.

These policies exist for one reason: the safety of our blenders and our customers.

If your tanks need preparation, we offer professional oxygen cleaning and valve service in-house.
